About Kid:

At the age of 3, Kid came to me completely broken. A gelding who had a kind heart, yet was totally misunderstood. Unfortunately due to rough training in the past, ill use of equipment and other horrific things, Kid was always on edge and defensive.

When I first started working with Kid, I truly believed that I didn’t have what it took to help him overcome his past trauma. Through countless hours of taking things incredibly slow, Kid came around through a different approach of training that helped me become an even more versatile trainer. Groundwork and simple tasks took much longer than the average horse which created saddle time to be pushed back further than I anticipated with him as well.

At 4, I started Kid under saddle, where he flourished and progressed faster than I thought possible. The next summer, after Kid turned 5, I took him to his very first dressage show. Going into the warm up ring was my main goal, but he far exceeded that and we were able to complete the dressage test. Kid was absolutely amazing and willing.

Kids history proves to me and many that even with past trauma, we can still become amazing at new things. He is a horse I thank over and over again for helping me become the trainer I am today.

Sadly, at the age of 7, we lost Kid to a tragic colic.
